About Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park, located in Kenya's Rift Valley Province, is an ecological haven famed for its rich wildlife and stunning landscapes. The park centers around the alkaline Lake Nakuru, famous for attracting vast numbers of flamingos that blanket the lake's surface in a vibrant pink. Beyond its birdlife, the park is a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos, hosts a diverse array of other wildlife like lions, leopards, and Rothschild's giraffes, and offers a plethora of activities for visitors, including game drives, bird watching, and guided nature walks.

The Weather

You should prepare for cool and mild weather conditions. During this time of the year, the region experiences its winter season. Days are typically pleasant with temperatures ranging from around 15 to 25 degrees Celsius (59 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit). However, it is advisable to carry layered clothing as temperatures can drop in the evenings and early mornings, reaching lows of around 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit). It is also important to pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to protect against the sun's rays during the day. Additionally, if you love going on long rambling walks, it is recommended to bring sturdy footwear for exploring the diverse terrain around you.
